Free Blu-ray Software Collections

Blu-ray disc movie is more and more popular now. Most of the application for Blu-ray is professional like the PowerDVD, Arcsoft Total Media Theatre, etc. and should be charged due to the Blu-ray authorization. Although, there is still free tools for Blu-ray users which help to manage your Blu-ray disc for personal usage. Below I will show them to you.

The first is one is Aurora Blu-ray Copy. It is a free tool and available on both Mac and Windows platform. The tool is very simple which can only remove the Blu-ray protection and convert into Blu-ray ISO image file. Then you can mount the ISO and enjoy the Blu-ray movie with your VLC player, etc. One more feature is that this free Blu-ray copy can burn the Blu-ray ISO into a blank disc(25GB or less). This will make your Blu-ray backup conveniently.

The second is the MakeMKV. It is a not completely free Blu-ray ripping software as its Blu-ray feature is only free during its beta time(often 30 days). After the beat time, you have to pay for the Blu-ray feature. The MakeMKV has a good reputation for its ability to rip Blu-ray disc and convert into a MKV format with multiple audio track/subtitles. It can remove the BD+/AACS protection and support discs from all regions. User who wants to enjoy their Blu-ray movie on their local may need this tool. You should note that Blu-ray ripping is a time-costing way.

The third one is a Mac application named free Mac Blu-ray Player. The tool is from cnet.com. There has been lots of Mac Blu-ray player software in the market now. Macgo and DVDfab have made their tools support the Blu-ray menu to some extent. While this free one can only deal with the main movie of a Blu-ray disc and not all the discs are supported, especially the new-released ones. Please note that you may need a Blu-ray drive to enjoy Blu-ray on you Mac OS X.

The fourth one is free Blu-ray maker software. Its name is FreeMake. The tool is mainly designed as free video converter software. The output profile includes the Blu-ray option. That means you can load the recorded clips from your DVs, edit simply and author into a Blu-ray folder/ISO file. Only three Blu-ray menu styles re available, you may donate the developer to get more menu styles.

The last one is the VLC Media Player. It is the most popular cross-platform media player software and can support almost any kind of Blu-ray/DVD/video/audio, etc. It is worth mentioning that VLC can only support the unprotected Blu-ray or DVD files. Although the 2.0 or later version are declared support Blu-ray, you have to do some operations to enable the feature and the disc supported is very limited. Anyway, it is really a real free method. To enable the Blu-ray feature, please refer to this tutorial:
